The short version, which is also the only version I can be trusted to keep up to date.
Who am I?
I’m a robotics engineer. I like problems that are annoying enough to be interesting — the ones where the answer is obvious right up until you try to build it.
Somewhere along the way I also became a photographer. It started with nature, because nature doesn’t complain about the lighting. Lately it’s been architecture and portraits, which very much do.
I used to say, with total confidence, that I would never do web development for a living. Four companies, one master’s degree and one published paper later, one of my main projects is a web-based tool. For a robot. So that’s going well.
What’s here?
This is a free GitHub-hosted corner of the internet where I put things down before I forget them:
- half-finished thoughts that turned out to be worth finishing
- notes on robots, code, and the occasional rant about scientific writing
- quotes I liked enough to steal
- adventures, and the resolutions that were supposed to produce them
- photographs
Anything properly code-shaped lives on GitHub instead.
Who is this for?
Me, in about five years, is the honest answer. That version of me is going to want to know what this one was thinking. But if you’ve found your way here, you’re welcome to read over my shoulder.
A CV?
Not here. LinkedIn has the tidy version — job titles, dates, the works.
Why “lemontyc”?
A username I picked a long time ago and have been too stubborn to replace. It has outlasted several email addresses, one Minecraft empire and most of my opinions.
